Sudan Mascot Change

Earl and Mary Finley came to the Fairview community in December 1926. Their son, Clifton, was fourteen years old at the time and was enrolled in the Fairview School. Clifton did not think he was getting the type of education that he needed, so he convinced his parents to transfer him to the school in Sudan. Clifton graduated from Sudan in 1931 after eleven years of schooling. Clifton served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Owetha Clark on December 17, 1946. Owetha Clark taught first or third grade at Sudan Elementary school for three or four years. Miss Clark considered the third grade her favorite class to teach.
